2025, age 19

Over winter break, my friend and I began GarageBand challenges since we've both used the app for awhile now. The challenge for this song was for both of us to make something starting with the exact same sample. I ended up making this dance/EDM sounding beat, while my friend made a slower, more atmospheric song. It was interesting to see how different our songs turned out.

2024, age 18

Senior year of high school, we were given a very broad assignment of exploring any challenge in education and making something, anything, about it. Since there were no limits on what we could create, I felt it a good opportunity to test my video editing skills as well as teach myself 3D modeling and animation in Blender. The beginning slide projector scene, as well as the TV and laptop transition scenes, were hand modeled by me in Blender. I did the sound design and 2D editing using VideoLeap.

This took a lot of time, but it was so satisfying to teach myself something new and actually apply it in my own way.

2023, age 17

I had just watched a documentary on Industrial Light and Magic and was inspired by their filmmaking techniques. I was so inspired that I felt the need to create a film of my own; and for some reason, I decided stop motion was the right medium for that. I immediately drove to the toy store and bought a couple figurines. It probably took me a total of 24 hours to make this, and it's not even 2 minutes long. However, I was very satisfied with how the movement turned out. The editing process was long and the sound design was strenuous, but this was overall a very fun (and random) thing that I made.

2022, age 16
